As we reach the end up a meat-tastic month filled burgers on burgers on burgers, we take some time to reflect back on our Seven Burgers in Seven Days celebration for National Hamburger Week.

National Hamburger Week has come and gone and so has any chance of fitting into our Speedos this summer.

Right Proper Brewing Company appreciates the wonderfulness of that gelatinous meat brick known as Spam and, along with its less-processed form, has created the No Ka Oi burger for National Hamburger Week.

Unapologetically gluttonous, the Del Ray burger joint has created yet another diet-unfriendly special that we're not going to tell our doctors about.

DCity Smokehouse is known for its ribs and its chopped pork and its brisket and its smoked meat-filled sandwiches, not so much its burgers. But that's a mistake.

This "big dirty uncle of the banh mi" wraps the flavors of a Vietnamese sandwich with Weiss' signature beef blend and then tosses them all in the fryer.

First things first – this is not a conventional burger. For National Hamburger Week, Red Apron chef Nathan Anda went outside of the box and down the street a block or two when he created the B Side special.

While it won't make you squeal like a pig – at least not in that way – the Deliverance Burger is bound to elicit a few exclamations during its consumption...but, trust us, all of them good.

The concept of brunch is just about the best thing ever. Combining breakfast and lunch into one meal and totally ignoring that whole drinking-before-noon taboo? UH, YES PLEASE.

In just two days time, National Hamburger Week begins and this year we're bringing you a full seven days' worth of spectacular burgers from the D.C. area's very best joints.

Come on, just look at this lineup: B Side, Burger Tap & Shake, DCity Smokehouse, Holy Cow, Mad Fox, The Pig and Right Proper. That's some serious burger slinging.

We began our roll out of National Hamburger Week participants this week with the introduction of two heavy hitters into the mix

The beefiest time of the year is nearly upon us and we're going all out in our celebration this go 'round.

National Burger Week came and went –as did any hopes of fitting into our Speedos by Memorial Day– after we downed seven burgers in seven days during our annual celebration of the beef.

It was a whirlwind weekend for the Crew and. instead of sitting down and enjoying our burgers like proper gentlemen, we had to grab our meat on the run.

He had us at burger. But then again at Cabernet onion jam. And once more at poached egg. Finally, our heads exploded at the mention of bacon fat mayo.

We were all excited to get our Epic Burger* on at Mad Fox on Wednesday but our plans were abruptly thwarted when our server informed us that there was no Epic Burger available last night. Shit.

Day 2 of Burger Week saw us hit up one of our longtime favorites. In the D.C. burger game, Ray's Hell Burger is one of the veteran players, churning out the goods in Arlington since 2008.

We down burgers on the regular but we always kick it up a notch the second week of May and go seven-in-seven for National Hamburger Week. This year is no exception as we dove mouth-first into our week-long observance with Kraze Burger on Monday.

Last week we did our annual burger-a-day thing and observed the shit outta National Hamburger Week.

Not about to waste another meal on a subpar burger, we got down and dirty with the greasy, drippy mess of Good Stuff Eatery to wrap up National Hamburger Week 2013.

We stopped by Dogwood Tavern for happy hour boozers and burgs and decided to go for the BOTM, the Black-n-Bleu, on Day 6 of Burger Week.

We hit up BGR for Day 5 of National Burger Week and since we were feeling particularly carnivorous, we went with the meatiest burger we could find on the menu: the Cuban.

Every Wednesday is Epic Burger Day at Mad Fox Brewing Company in Falls Church. So guess where we spent hump day of National Burger Week?

We'd like to introduce you to the Porkstramburger.

Have no fear D.C.-- Ray's Hell Burger didn't die, it just crossed the street.

We were happy to see Joe's Burgers get some love from area chefs during Eater's Burger Week, and since it had been a hot minute since we last got our beef on at the McLean joint, we decided to kick off National Hamburger Week with the unheralded burger slinger.

Whatever obese order of eaters sat down and decided to assign a food to celebrate every goddamn day, week and month of the year, picked May to exalt that beautiful patty of beef we've come to know and love. That's right, fools-- it's National Hamburger Month.

If it didn't necessitate wearing pants with an elastic waistband for the rest of our lives, we could definitely get used to this burger-a-day thing.

We finished off this year's National Hamburger Week with an afternoon run to Mr. Flay's spot on K St. to satisfy a hankering for his May BOTM we've been dealing with all month.

There's not much more we can say about the burger we downed on Day 6 of National Hamburger Week. We'll just reiterate what we've said before about 2941's All American: this is one of the best burgers we've eaten. Period.

When the stars and planets aligned and Eater DC declared this past week Pizza Week --the SAME week as National Hamburger Week.... well, hell, we just about passed out.
