We received some interesting news this week: we may have not eaten the last of brgr:shack.

More sad burger news as just a few days after learning of Dorothy Moon's impending shut down, we discover another area patty slinger has shuttered its doors.

A fresh batch of BOTMs hits the streets of the D.M.V this month featuring two that are just about i-damn-dentical, one inspired by a Mountain State and two which, unfortunately, make stars outta some birds.

Looks like D.C. burger makers did some heavy shopping in the produce section as the BOTMs go big on the green in June. Basil, arugula, mixed greens, pickles and avocados get major play on the beef this month and that's just like eating a salad with a bit of meat thrown in, right?

If it didn't necessitate wearing pants with an elastic waistband for the rest of our lives, we could definitely get used to this burger-a-day thing.

It's hard to pass up a burger named after yourself.

This being National Hamburger Month and all, it's only fitting that one of our favorite burgers of last year returns in all its pulled-pork glory as a BOTM.

This month marks the one-year anniversary of our debut in burger form and we're stoked to see it's returning for another run. In other BOTM news, we don't know what it is about Spring but it brings out the salad-on-burger trend as two of this month's BOTMs feature the stuff on their April burgs.

Cheese lovers rejoice-- the Juicy Lucy, the Minnesota-born burger that flips the script and puts the good stuff inside the beef, now has a permanent place on the new menu at Arlington's brgr:shack. And naturally, it warranted a taste test from the Crew.

Arlington's brgr:shack just unveiled a new, simpler and lower-priced menu last week that ditches some items but, most importantly, adds a cheesy ball of beef to the mix.

Meat on meat. Sandwiches on sandwiches. A Juicy Lucy. And....Chicago? Well, three outta four ain't bad. Peep the D.C. March BOTMs inside.

During our day-to-day adventures, we plow through so many burgs that we fail to share here at Burger Days. We think that's just wrong. So in an effort to spread more beefy goodness, we introduce Beef Briefs, a short, brief look at more of the burgers we've taken to the face. Today: brgr:shack's Love Shack

There's a trio of seasonal BOTMs this month as two give a nod to revelry on Bourbon Street and one does its best Cupid impression. And while the fourth eschews all February festivities, it still holds a special place in our greasy hearts.

Anything that helps us stretch our burger budget gets us all antsy in the pantsy.

As we roll into 2012, the new year kicks off with a new slate of BOTMs, including a brand-new joint's introduction to the lineup of special monthly burgers. Also this month, one burg is only available two days of the week, another hooks up with everybody's favorite Thai hot sauce and, once again, the Food Network star's spot gives D.C. a swift kick to the nuts.

As we inched closer to the New Year, we checked the numbers and realized we had yet to hit our burger quota for 2011. So naturally, a year-end burger splurge was in order.

One burger gets in the season, another clones one of our faves and, the third? Well, let's just say we're still waiting for our hometown to be recognized by Mr. Food Network. Peep the December BOTMs after the jump.

When we first learned that both BGR and brgr:shack went turkey with their November BOTMs, we decided to put our disdain for the bird burgers behind us and give the two poultry patties a try. 'Tis the season after all.
