Today, the Burger Days Crew leaves D.C. along with the snow, rain and tornadoes behind and heads down to sunny Miami for the burger parties of all burger parties: the SOBEWFF Burger Bash.

Battles. Cook offs. Showdowns. They can be called many things but to paraphrase the Bard: "That which we call a burger bash by an other name would taste as deliciously greasy."

Like moths to a flame, so are our bellies to burger battles. And this Sunday, our collective stomachs will be flocking to Poste for the 4th annual Brainfood Burger Battle.

This is National Burger Month, you know. Though our celebration of the beef is year-round, in May, however, we REALLY get down.

The burger we downed last Thursday was a double-pattied, grease-laden bundle of beef and bread, smeared with special sauce and infused with globs of melted cheese. This was a fast-food burger in all its greasy fast-food glory. Except that it wasn't.

Beef? Check. Grease? Check. Melty gooey cheese? Check. Somebody get us a bib.

Getting into the National Hamburger Month spirit, the fancy-ass Four Seasons joint Bourbon Steak in Georgetown is offering up a special burger each week this month.
