For all those lamenting the lack of bacon availability on a ShackBurger, lament no more; those wonderful strips of pork candy are now ready for burger action at the D.C. Shake Shack.

The burger we downed last Thursday was a double-pattied, grease-laden bundle of beef and bread, smeared with special sauce and infused with globs of melted cheese. This was a fast-food burger in all its greasy fast-food glory. Except that it wasn't.

Beef? Check. Grease? Check. Melty gooey cheese? Check. Somebody get us a bib.

If it didn't necessitate wearing pants with an elastic waistband for the rest of our lives, we could definitely get used to this burger-a-day thing.

We finished off this year's National Hamburger Week with an afternoon run to Mr. Flay's spot on K St. to satisfy a hankering for his May BOTM we've been dealing with all month.
