With the sun beating down under a cloudless sky at Arlington's Gateway Park, Willow Restaurant bested 15 other competitors to take home its third consecutive title at the D.C. BRGR Bash on Saturday.

The first of a new crop of "burger bar" restaurants set to infiltrate the area is just about here. Plan B Burger Bar announced that its upcoming D.C. location, coming to Pennsylvania Avenue, is – finally!– on track to open by the end of the month.

If you think the D.C. burger market is saturated now, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

It's no longer a matter of if D.C. will get another new burger joint, it's now just a matter of how many. And from the sounds of it, we gotta whole lotta beef on the way.

While some may lament the impending arrival of yet another burger restaurant to the D.C. area, we just lick our greasy lips in anticipation. And when that joint coming to town also packs some serious boozer credentials and tater tots, it makes us downright euphoric.
