More than any other holiday outside of Thanksgiving, Mari Gras brings out the burgers.

It's already five days into 2016, which means our resolutions are already in the shitter. So with all that nonsense behind us, we're ready to go meat-in-face with each and every BOTM in January.

Because there just isn't enough turkey and stuffing in November, this month's crop of BOTMs is overflowing with the holiday staples.

It's a bratwurst kinda month as two area joints bust out Oktoberfest burgs, another goes double decker on us and an excommunicated burger makes a unnecessary comeback.

It's September, so football season is here which means pigskin-themed BOTMs and, thankfully, that means pumpkin spice latte burgers. Plus, there's another one jam-packed with oh-so-wonderful pimento cheese.

This month on the BOTM scene, two Caesars is two too many, a new twist to a Caprese creation and we're going, going, back, back, to Cali, Cali.

It's July in D.C. which means heat, humidity and a brand new batch of BOTMs. This month, we've got a patriotic burger (at least if you're French), a run-of-the-mill BBQ creation, a pork-centric BOTM, a sweet-and-smokey joint from Falls Church and a non-burger repeat.

We bid a greasy farewell to May and National Hamburger Month and welcome in a fresh crop of BOTMs to fill our bellies in June.

This month is a strange one for BOTMs. One creation isn't even a burger, another is a spin on a burrito dish from New Mexico, and we introduce a new member of the BOTM Club while a charter member teeters on the brink of exclusion.

Despite some delays, Citizen Burger Bar is still planning to open in Clarendon this year.

Three new burger joints set to open in Northern Virginia by the end of this year have been hit with delays (naturally), but two are still on track to make their debuts in the next few months.

Just when you thought it was safe to take in those pants, another burger joint is about to unleash its beefiness upon the D.C. area.
