The beefiest time of the year is nearly upon us and we're going all out in our celebration this go 'round. A week from today, National Hamburger Month begins but more importantly, the second week of May marks the start of our seven-day burger splurge as we revel in the week of all weeks: National Hamburger Week. In years past, we've done our greasy duty by hopping from joint to joint for seven days of burger goodness and while that has certainly been fun, we wanted to turn it up to 11 and do something really special this time around. So, in advance of Burger Week 2015 (Sunday, May 10 - Saturday, May 16), Burger Days has teamed up with seven of the D.C.-area's top burger slingers for a full week's worth of amazing creations. Seven burgers. Seven joints. Seven days. Now you, too, can get elbow deep in the meat along with us. And who's slinging the good stuff? Like a long, excruciating and greasy strip tease, we're going to take our time showing off the goods. Over the next two weeks, we'll unveil a joint a day until the full lineup of seven joints is revealed and then, on Friday, May 8, we'll tell you all about the burgers they're cooking up. And have no fear, burger lovers, there are no weak entries in the group; from top-to-bottom, this lineup of meat-and-bun purveyors is damn spectacular. Be advised, however, these specials will be as fleeting as they are greasy – some will be available all week long while others will be one-day only deals. In addition to eating like the Burger Days Crew, we'll also give you a chance to dress like us, too (don't worry, we're fashion plates). All Burger Week long, we'll be asking readers to share photos of themselves and the special burgers on social media, with the best burger photog winning a limited-edition Burger Days Burger Week 2015 t-shirt.
