Palena, Ray’s Make America’s Top 40 Burgers List

Palena's kick-ass, simple cheeseburger earns national acclaim.

The Daily Meal dropped their "40 Best Burgers in America" list today and we're happy to see two of our favorites make the cut. Burgers from Cleveland Park's Palena and Arlington's Ray's to the Third were recognized for their excellence and shared the spotlight with 38 other burgers as selected by burger experts from around the country (yes, including us).

Ray's-- so good no matter where you get it.

And not only that, but a separate list ranking the top chain burgers in the country included creations from six spots with locations right here in the D.C. area: Shake Shack's Shackburger (#1), the cheeseburger at Five Guys (#3), BGR's The Burger (#7), Bobby's Burger Palace's Crunchburger (#8), the cheeseburger with everything at Fatburger (#9) and BurgerFi's cheeseburger (#10). Umami Burger (on its way!), Steak n' Shake, In-N-Out and Whataburger rounded out the fast-food list.
