As we roll into October, a trio of new burgers of the month are on the menu at the local joints. This time around, two of 'em are bringing the heat while the third takes its inspiration from Philly.
Scope out this month's BOTMs:
brgr:shack goes all City of Brotherly Love on us this month with The Philly: a lettuce, tomato, sauteed green bell peppers and onions, red-wine-sauteed mushroom, cheese and roasted red pepper mayo sauce burger. It sounds like a winner to us, save for ooooone little detail. When it comes to cheese, you've got a choice of American or Swiss Provolone. Since we're assuming this burg is an homage to the iconic cheesesteak, we'd be remiss if we didn't remind the brgr folks of what happens when you combine it with the later option. Might we recommend Cheez Whiz instead? (UPDATE: Crisis averted, we've been told Provolone is actually the other choice)
Shake of the Month: Attacking your sweet tooth this month will be brgr:shack's Butter Pecan Butterscotch milkshake.

The other burger with the fire this month is Bobby's Burger Palace's Nacho Burger. With tomato-chipotle salsa, nacho cheese sauce, pickled jalapenos and blue corn tortilla chips, it sounds like this one will raise your temp a degree or two. And since there's already chips on the burg, there's no need to crunchify the sucker. (And for the record, it's month two and still no D.C. burger...)
