Ahh December. While everyone else is focused on decorating, baking, gifting and all that other season stuff, we keep it focused on the fresh batch of BOTMs coming to the plate at D.C. burger joints. This month we get a World Champion (well, almost), a burger that rhymes, and the hap, hap, happiest BOTM since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny fucking Kaye. Welcome to the December BOTMs.

BGR The Burger Joint

Last month, BGR competed in something called the World Burger Championship in Vegas and did quite well, finishing in third place. Now that's a great accomplishment and all, and we're happy for 'em, but really, what does that do for us here in D.C.? Well, we'll tell you what it does-- the winning creation-- a bacon-and-onion-jam-topped burger with a fried egg and American cheese-- is now the December BOTM. Now that's something to celebrate. Bobby's Burger Palace

What's this? Could it be?? Is it finally time for a D.C. burger from Bobby's Burger Palace? Be Right Burger keeps their BOTM streak going with an interesting one this month. We don't have a clue why they decided to name this one the Burgermeister Meisterburger but they did. (We justifiably got called out on our lack of Burgermesiter Mesiterburger knowledge, and a little Google search later, we're hip now.) So there's that. Anyway, the BOTM so nice they named it twice tops an Angus beef patty with black forest ham, Swiss, sauerkraut and dijon mayo and serves it up on a toasted pretzel bun. Dogwood Tavern

Taking a cue from the most festive of families, Dogwood's December BOTM is The Griswold-- a burger topped with a fried Sweet Potato round, Spinach, bacon, cranberries and balsamic reduction.
