This month on the BOTM scene, two Caesars is two too many, a new twist to a Caprese creation and we're going, going, back, back, to Cali, Cali. (Also, chances are you won't miss 'em but we've booted a longtime BOTM member out of the Club.)  

Burger Tap & Shake

Joining its Foggy Bottom joint this month, BTS's brand new second location in Tenleytown makes its BOTM Club debut with The Caprese. Switching it up from the typical mozz, basil, tomato and balsamic stack we've seen at several other burger spots, we're digging BTS' make up of arugula, melted mozzarella, an heirloom tomato relish and basil pesto aioli on the beef. Adding to the fancy, the whole thing is topped with a skewered hunk of mozzarella, basil leaf and cherry tomato. Bobby's Burger Palace

That sound you hear is the collected exasperated exhalation of the entire Burger Days Crew. First, the Caesar Burger was the BOTM just eight months ago at Bobby's Burger Palace and already it's back on tap. And second, it's a goddamn salad burger. Ever wish lettuce was the star of a burger? Yeah, neither have we. But, unfortunately, that's what we get with this one featuring Caesar mayo, Parmesan, black pepper and one hefty hunk of Romaine hearts. Boo. Just boo. Social Burger

Et tu, Social Burger? Like a double stab in the back, not only is the Vienna burger joint doing its own version of the Caesar Burger this month but this one ditches the beef for the bird...THE BIRD! We'll give 'em points for topping Mr. Iron Chef in the creativity department with lemon Caesar dressing, romaine lettuce, bacon bits, tomato and shaved Parmesan on top of a chicken-paprika patty but, in the end, it's still a salad crammed into a sandwich. Dogwood Tavern

Throwing it up for the Westside this month, Falls Church's Dogwood Tavern hits our East Coast faces with the California Burger. We like the sound of pepper jack, bacon, avocado and sriracha aioli, but the alfalfa sprouts and cucumbers give us pause.
