UPDATE:  Burger Days' Adam C. spots a sign for yet another new Smashburger-- this one on Route 7 in Tysons, past the Metro construction by the upcoming Wal-Mart (Tysons West). Mo' burgers, mo' burger, mo' burgers... The latest future spot for the fast-growing chain Smashburger in the D.C. area will be the City of Falls Church. Our sources tell us that the Denver-based burger joint has approved a buildout for a location next to Meat in a Box on South Washington Street. The space is currently occupied by a group of stone, tile and carpet stores but they're not continuing their leases. This particular Smashburger spot is notable because it's just about next door (less than a quarter of a mile) from the original, first-ever location of Elevation Burger. Regular readers know where we stand when it comes to these joints, but we're eager to see how the two fare once Smashburger gets up and running on Elevation's home turf. Challange!
