UPDATE: A rep confirmed to us that opening at the end of October is indeed the plan. The first of a new crop of "burger bar" restaurants set to infiltrate the area is just about here. Plan B Burger Bar posted on Instagram today news that its upcoming D.C. location, coming to Pennsylvania Avenue, is – finally!– on track to open by the end of the month. The Connecticut-based joint initially hoped for a May opening, then August but now it looks like it's actually about to happen. We hit up the beer, bourbon and burger specialists at their Simsbury, Connecticut spot a few years back where we got down and dirty with lobster-topped burgers, wings and motherfucking disco tots. Following Plan B's debut this month, two additional burger bars are set to touch down in the D.C.-area: Citizen Burger Bar is expected to open in Clarendon in November (a sneak peek at our fact-finding trip to their Charlottesville's joint) and we're still eagerly awaiting for the wonderfully-insane burger makers at Philly's PYT to announce their D.C. intentions.
