National Hamburger Week Day 6: 2941 Restaurant, Falls Church
2012
There's not much more we can say about the burger we downed on Day 6 of National Hamburger Week since we've already waxed extensively about it here on Burger Days. We'll just reiterate what we've said before about 2941's All American: this is one of the best burgers we've eaten. Period.
We were oh-so-tempted to go with the Falls Church joint's amazing duck burger, but even though we love that bird sandwich, we had to keep it beefy during Burger Week. (And we may or may not have ordered one on the side as well.)
As for the cow burg-- it's a rich, savory bundle of joy on a bun. The six-and-a-half ounce beef patty comes drenched in cheddar and surrounded by a soft, toasted, buttered bun. And that's it. The lettuce, tomato and onion on the side never make it to our sandwich as we're more than satisfied with just the bread and meat. It's that good. Simple and delicious.
Go get it.
(If you're still intimated by the fanciness of 2941- don't be. The spot is much more approachable since their recent revamp and if the Burger Days Crew can feel comfortable burgering and boozing it up at the bar, it should be a breeze for you. Besides, it's the absolute best place in the D.C. area to grab a burger and a beer and watch freakishly huge goldfish swim around in a pond. We guarantee it.)
