We're happy to announce that with no fish or fowl in sight, every damn one of this month's BOTMs are courtesy a four-legged animal. Thank God. Now, let's get to the good stuff.
Dogwood's March Madness BOTM (Fatty Melt)

Dogwood's March Madness BOTM (Fatty Melt)

Dogwood Tavern

It's March which means the Fatty Melt returns to Dogwood and our BMIs return to orbit. The three-sandwiches-in-one carbstrosity marries a beef patty along with TWO grilled cheese sandwich buns in perfect beef-and-cheese polygamy. We call it a Fatty Melt, Dogwood calls it the March Madness Burger. 132 West Broad Street | Falls Church | dogwoodtavern.com

Corned-beef on beef. Ain't nothing wrong with that.

BGR The Burger Joint

Let's eat sandwiches in burger form forever. This month, BGR goes Reuben for St. Patricks Day with a corned beef, thousand island, sauerkraut and Swiss-topped burger. Since we treat St. Paddy's Day as a month-long event, now we know what'll be soaking up all that booze. 8 Locations in D.C., Maryland and Virginia | bgrtheburgerjoint.com

Burger Tap & Shake

Instead of going King of the Jungle between the bun this month, we're happy BTS decided to choose the latter form of the March saying and hook up the Out Like a Lamb BOTM. A char-griddled lamb patty gets up-close-and-personal with goat cheese, oven-cure tomatoes, arugula and a black olive aioli. Baaa'aaaaam.  2200 Pennsylvania Ave NW | DC | burgertapandshake.com

louisanaburgerbotmbbpBobby's Burger Palace

It's a thematic burger at BBP in March, as Bobby's joint gets all Fat Tuesday on us with the Louisiana Burger. Pepper jack cheese, grilled tasso ham, spicy remoulade and red hot sauce get thrown atop a spiced-crusted patty and this may be enough for us to forgive Mr Flay from his Burger Bash no-show. 5 locations in D.C., Maryland and Virginiabobbysburgerpalace.com

(We're always on the lookout for BOTMs. If you know of another D.C.-area joint that hooks up a monthly special burger, email us and let us know.)

The Reuben from BGR sounds like an excellent idea.
