Burger Tap & Shake Opening Today in Tenleytown [Mo’ Burgers]
The wait is over for the debut of Burger Tap & Shake’s second location as the burger slinging commences today at its brand new Tenleytown spot. We caught up with BTS chef Jeff Tunks and team at the DC BRGR Bash in Arlington Saturday where he confirmed Monday’s opening.
The new space at the corner of Wisconsin and Albermarle looks very similar to the Foggy Bottom joint, continuing the graffiti theme with the burger-and-booze menu tagged over top the counter, though, instead of a mural of George Washington’s mug gracing the wall, the Tenleytown spot shows off a giant eagle clutching a burger and a shake (probably a boozy one) in its talons. There’s seating for about 75 including a patio on Wisconsin Avenue.
The menu will be identical to the Foggy Bottom joint, including all the signature burgers – Big Daddy, Apache Sweat Lodge, Six Buck Chuck, etc. – with just about everything made from scratch on site. And while BTS’s popular Burgers of the Month will be served here, the BOTM special won’t begin until August. When it comes to the boozers, there’s 12 beers on tap (vs. 20 at Foggy Bottom) plus BTS’s entire boozy shake lineup.
BTS Tenleytown is open Monday – Thursday, 10 a.m. – 11 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. – midnight, Saturday from 11 a.m. – midnight and on Sunday at 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
