Talk about opening with a bang.
Black and Orange made a splash with the debut of their new location in the U Street Corridor, slinging out mini-burgers galore to revelers during their VIP grand opening party last night.
In addition to the new digs, Black & Orange also unveiled the newest burger in their lineup-- a creation exclusive to the U Street joint-- the Bloody Mary inspired Hair of the Dog.
The Crew was on hand for the shin dig, and when all was said and done, we just missed hitting double digits with our burger tally but we did manage to down about 15 tiny glasses of wine and champagne* a piece. So, we were winners after all...
Making the rounds in mini-burger form and helping us soak up the booze was the aforementioned Hair of the Dog which packs the heat and was one of our favorites, the Ciao Down (garlic, tomato and basil-infused), the Rogue State and its bird counterpart The Rogue Turkey (house spice blend, chipotle and cilantro) and what we think is their top burger blend, the No Burger, No Cry (house jerk blend, red onion, and habanero peppers.)
Black and Orange is now open at the corner of 14th and U St. NW and serves the burgs daily from 11 a.m. to 5 a.m.
Yes, 5 a.m.
