UPDATE: With the government shutdown avoided, Z Burger will still be offering up free burgers to fed workers this Monday, April 11.
In the, what's looking more and more likely, event of a government shutdown, federal workers will still be able to get their burger fix without putting a further dent in their wallets.
Z Burger in Tenleytown will be serving up a burger a day, for free, to fed workers starting Monday, April 11 if the government shuts down. Just flash your fed ID and you'll get your choice of a single beef, turkey or veggie burger.
It's estimated that 800,000 workers will be sent home without pay if Congress doesn't make a deal by Friday night.
Props to the folks at Z Burger for doing what they can and spreading some good will (and beef).
