Oh Lordy, our burger juices are flowing now.
One of our heroes, the burger man himself, George Motz, is coming to town to screen his documentary on the beloved beef sandwich at the National Archives tomorrow.
"Hamburger America," the 2005 film highlighting eight classically unique burger joints across the country, will screen in the William G. McGowan Theater at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 21. Admission is free and open to the public and Motz will be available after the flick for a Q&A and to sign copies of his book of the same name. He also mentions a Five Guys run may be in order after the screening...
We may just faint in a greasy heap.
Motz has been a favorite of the Burger Days crew ever since the first edition of his book hit the streets in 2008. In fact, Hamburger America was the impetus behind our first-ever Burger Days adventure, leading us to one of the book's highlighted D.C. joints, Tune Inn, three years ago. (It also served as our travel guide for our burger run through Connecticut earlier this year. It's a road trip essential.)
In addition to all his burgering, Motz is the host of a new TV show on the Travel Channel, "Made in America,"  where he travels around the U.S. to find out how the world's most iconic products are made. The show premieres October 4 at 8 p.m. on the Travel Channel.
