While we certainly don't need an excuse to dive neck deep into a pile of burgers at any given time, we gladly welcome another opportunity to revel in the beef.
Starting tomorrow, BlackFinn (AmeriPub in Merrifield and regular ol' BlackFinns in D.C. and Bethesda) is kicking off their own Burger Month celebration with 30 days of burger specials and contests. During the promotion, the restaurants are hooking up four limited-time burgers with $1 from each sale going towards the American Red Cross and their Oklahoma Relief campaign. And if you happen to like free stuff, you've got a chance to get some of that too, as BlackFinn is giving away a $500 grill and $150 in gift cards in a burger photo contest. We're big proponents of burger creativity and we're impressed with the beefy quartet BlackFinn is busting out over the next month. One of our favorite burger toppings of all-time is making an appearance on their Sam's Bacon Jam Burger which comes with the sweet, bacon-y good stuff along with melted cheddar, lettuce and tomato. The Pepperoni Pizza Burger combines pepperoni, mozzarella, pizza sauce and basil with the beef on roasted garlic mayo slathered toasted ciabatta roll and the Natch-Yo Burger is a chipotle queso, guacamole, diced red and green onion, bell pepper and tortilla strip topped burg. The most elaborate of the bunch, however, is the Elvis Burger-- a burger topped with caramelized bananas, peanut butter, pepperjack, bacon and fried onion strings. ATTENTION: this might be the first burger we've come across that could be too extreme for even our garbage-disposal-like bellies. But dammit, we're still going to eat it. The burger month celebration jumps off tomorrow, Friday, June 28, during a special happy hour at all the BlackFinns. At the AmeriPub location in Merrifield, the happy hour runs from 5 - 8 p.m. featuring complimentary
