In the beginning, there were burgers. And they were good. (Actually, they're delicious, but that's missing the point.) After we had burgers, we had cheeseburgers and they were even better. The simplicity of beef and bread and cheese is beautiful. It doesn't grab headlines like a half-pound patty topped with bacon three ways, double-fried and stuffed with mozzarella sticks, but we'd argue that a simple cheeseburger is the pinnacle of burger construction. When we picture our perfect burger, it's an image of soft, pillowy buns caressing a juicy patty being embraced by an orange waterfall of molten American cheese. It's enough to bring greasy, salty tears to our eyes. So, on this sacred day, we invite you to celebrate and exalt along with us the one, the only, cheeseburger.
