Apple & Brie Burgers Return, BTS Channels Miami Vice & Brats On Beef [BOTMs]
Labor Day has come and gone and we’ve got a fresh batch of BOTMs on the D.C. scene. This September, there’s a Miami Vice-themed creation, a nacho-cheese-and-chip-topped burger, and surprisingly, a second consecutive BOTM throws apple, brie and bacon on the beef
When it rains, it pours. Last month, BGR debuted the first-ever apple, brie and bacon BOTM and this month, Dogwood puts its own spin on fruit-and-cheese-topped meat. The Falls Church joint’s Apple & Brie burger mirrors the BGR creation with apple, brie and bacon, but, thankfully, rather than balsamic-drenched onions, a cinnamon aioli brings it all together.

Burger Tap & Shake
Time to bust out the sport coats and t-shirts, BTS’s takes us down to South Beach this month with their twist on a Cuban, the Tubbs & Crockett. The burger tops a char-griddled beef patty with slow-roasted pork, Swiss, pickles and a dijon aioli. Add some Phil Collins and your meal is complete.

Bobby’s Burger Palace
Up next in the tired Bobby’s Burger Palace rotation is the Nacho Burger. Again. It’s got the trademark Flay flavors of spice and smokiness (tomato-chipotle salsa, pickled jalapenos) with nacho cheese sauce and a Tex-Mex-version of crunchification with blue corn chips.

BGR The Burger Joint
Don’t jump the gun on this one, BGR’s next BOTM won’t be available until the 15th of this month. Once we hit the Ides of September, the Oktoberfest comes to the plate topping a burger with muenster, sauerkraut, mustard ale sauce and, yep, there’s a brat in there, too. All of the above gets tossed on a pretzel bun.
(We’re always on the lookout for BOTMs. If you know of another D.C.-area joint that hooks up a monthly special burger, email us and let us know.)
