With Brainfood's Burger Battle just about a week away, it's almost go time for the 10 competing D.C. chefs.
Next Sunday, Dennis Marron, the man behind Poste’s famous Onion Soup Burger, and Granville Moore’s (2012 Burger of the Year winner) Teddy Folkman are co-hosting the single-most epic clash of D.C. beefwiches in history and will be joined by Scott Drewno (The Source), Haidar Karoum (Proof, Estadio and Doi Moi), Victor Albisu (Taco Bamba and Del Campo), Kyle Bailey (Birch & Barley and GBD), Anthony Chittum (Vermilion and Iron Gate), Danny Bortnick (Firefly), Marjorie Meek-Bradley (Ripple) and another BOTY winner, Andrew Dixon (Mad Fox Brewing Company).
If, for any reason, you haven't already snatched up your ticket to this beef bonanza, there's still time to snag one. But if you just can't bring yourself to shell out $75 for three full hours of all you can eat and all you can booze goodness, you can try you luck at snagging free tickets in Brainfood's Twitter contest. From now through this Sunday, June 23, tweet a pic of yourself happily indulging in that sandwich of all sandwiches to @BrainfoodDC with the hashtag #dcburgerbattle for a chance to win one of two pairs of tickets. You may enter once per day up until the end of the contest at 11:59 p.m. on the 23rd.
Also, an update on the Battle's booze front: joining Mad Fox Brewing Company, 3 Stars Brewing and Brewery Ommegang in providing the event's libations will be Port City Brewing, Boxwood Estate Winery, Peirano Estate and Washburn Wine Company.
The Brainfood Burger Battle takes place Sunday, June 30, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Poste Modern Brasserie in Penn Quarter.
If you need us, we'll be stretching our stomachs in preparation.
