D.C.'s Summer Restaurant Week starts this
Sunday Monday and, leading up to it, there's been a shit-ton of online articles and blog posts letting people know it.
Despite the myriad posts explaining the ins and outs of the week, we've yet to find one that tells us what
we really want to know.
Namely, who's giving us the burger hook up?
Since burgers are what we do (and eat), we scoured the menus of participating restaurants and have found all the joints hooking up beef –and in one case, bison– and a bun next week.
Some burger highlights include Chef Geoff's Downtown's Dry Aged Hawaiian Burger with Gouda, ham, pineapple and avocado, Logan Tavern's Bacon-Bacon Burger with Canadian and smoked bacon, Thunder Burger's Kobe beef and foie gras combo, the Big Pimpin, and Restaurant 3's ground beef and andouille sausage mash-up with caramelized onions, house-cured bacon and cheddar.
However, out of the
plethora of spots serving up the burgs, we've gotta name
901 Restaurant's lunch menu as the most Burger Days friendly. Not only does their 901 Bacon Burger option (smoked cheddar, beer braised onion, garlic aioli, artisan sweet potato bun)Â sound stupid good, but you can kick-start your meal with their cheeseburger sliders. If only they incorporated a burger into dessert, they'd have the trifecta.
