Rejoice D.C., Bacon Comes to Shake Shack

The Shack goes spicy and porky with the SmokeShack.

The pig has landed on K Street. For all those lamenting the lack of bacon availability on a ShackBurger, lament no more; those wonderful strips of pork candy are now ready for burger action at the D.C. Shake Shack.

Now playing at the District joint is the SmokeShack, a burg our faces got up close and personal with at the SoBe Burger Bash back in February. Packing a healthy dose of heat, the new-to-D.C. burg adds Applewood-smoked bacon and cherry pepper relish to an already ridiculously good ShackBurger. The SmokeShack is currently available only as a special at the K Street location and, depending on response, it may become a permanent addition to the menu a Shake Shack rep tells us. In BurgerDaysese that means "get your asses to the spot and order them up STAT." The bacon-laden burger made a brief D.C. appearance back in April at Shake Shack's stand at the Sweetlife Music Festival where it was hit with non-stop lines throughout the day.
