It’s Football Season Which Means Hot Wing & Nacho Burgers Are In [September BOTMs]

It's September, so football season is here which means pigskin-themed BOTMs and, thankfully, that means pumpkin spice latte burgers. Plus, there's another one jam-packed with oh-so-wonderful pimento cheese.

Burger Tap & Shake

Is a wing still a wing if it's a burger? That's the existential question this month as BTS busts out the Are You Ready for Some Football BOTM just in time for pigskin season. The special feature a chargriddled chicken patty topped with crumbled blue cheese, carrot and celery ranch dressing and Frank's Louisiana Hot Sauce. And, yes, we're ready. Thanks for asking. 2200 Pennsylvania Ave NW | DC |

Bobby's Burger Palace

Another game-watching snack takes on burger form in September, this time at Bobby's Burger Palace with the Nacho Burger. A beef patty is loaded up with tomato-chipotle salsa, nacho cheese sauce, pickled jalapenos and blue corn chips. Last time the Palace served this one, we dug it. [Burger Days Review, September 2014] 2121 K Street, NW | DC |

Dogwood Tavern

If there's something we could all use a little more of, it's pimento cheese. Seriously, we could bathe in that creamy, luscious goodness for days. Dogwood understands this. So much so, that even though they already have a pimento and fried egg burger on the menu, in September they're doubling down with the The Southerner BOTM an Angus beef patty topped with basil mayo, pickled onions, fried green tomato and bacon jalapeno pimento. Awwwww yeah, it's bath time! 132 West Broad Street | Falls Church |

Social Burger

Who does it better? The all-star, millionaire, celebrity, Iron chef-run nationwide burger chain or the small town, independent, family-owned joint? This month, Vienna's Social Burger is serving up the Nacho Chili Burger (aka The Renegade Burger) putting chili, chipotle cheese, pico de gallo and tortilla chips on a beef patty. Plus, they'll be donating a $1 for each BOTM sold to the StillBrave Childhood Cancer Foundation. Sorry, Flay, our money is on the little guy. 350 Maple Avenue West | Vienna|     (We're always on the lookout for BOTMs. If you know of another D.C.-area joint that hooks up a monthly special burger, email us and let us know.)
