Bringing you yet another burger scoop, we can now confirm Smashburger has officially signed a lease to bring its fast-food style burgs to the City of Falls Church.

Like we told you last month, the latest D.C.-area destination for the Denver-based burger chain will be next to the kebab joint, Meat in a Box, in the 300 block of South Washington Street in F.C. The smashed-patty providers will move into the Washington Commons shopping center, owned by local developer The Young Group, currently undergoing a renovation. After opening its first D.C.-area location in Fairfax last year, Smashburger has big plans for the D.M.V. with more joints already set for DuPont, Tysons and Bethesda. At last October's Fairfax debut, founder Tom Ryan told us he's got plans for 15-20 corporate-owned stores in Virginia, Maryland and D.C. No word yet on the F.C. location's opening date.
