September’s Painfully Unoriginal BOTMs

We're keeping it short and sweet with this month's BOTMs featuring two clones, a crustacean burger and a creative twist on a brown-bag fave.

BGR The Burger Joint

Proving that it is possible to be less creative than last month, BGR's September burger is the All-American with cheddar, bacon, BBQ sauce and a beer-battered onion ring. Hey, at least there's no pineapple. 9 Locations in D.C., Maryland and Virginia | bgrtheburgerjoint.com

Burger Tap & Shake

Shrimp 2

All surf, no turf.

Continuing their run of non-beef burgers, BTS goes under the sea with their latest, the Bayou Le Batre. The crispy shrimp BOTM gets dressed up all fancy with lettuce, tomato and a scampi aioli. Who needs Endless Shrimp when you've got this? 2200 Pennsylvania Ave NW | DC | burgertapandshake.com

Bacon and BBQ sauce. How original.

Bobby's Burger Palace

Don't adjust your Internets, this is not a repeat. Mr. Flay's joint hooks up a near-identical burger to The Burger Joint's this month with the Cheyenne- a smoked cheddar, barbecue sauce, bacon and shoestring onion rings. Yay diversity! 2121 K Street, NW | DC | bobbysburgerpalace.com

Dogwood Tavern

Like a breath of fresh, beef-tainted air, Dogwood comes through with the PB&J burger in September. But this ain't your elementary school sandwich. Rather than the traditional Welch's and Jif, the Falls Church joint's BOTM is topped with Thai peanut sauce and tomato pepper jelly and served on Texas Toast with arugula and grilled onions. 132 West Broad Street | Falls Church | dogwoodtavern.com    (We're always on the lookout for BOTMs. If you know of another D.C.-area joint that hooks up a monthly special burger, email us and let us know.)
