As the year rolls on, some D.C. burger joints are stepping up their BOTM game while others are content coasting through the summer. This month we've got three all-new burgers and one sad and tired repeat.

Dogwood Tavern

I think it's safe to say we like the sound of Dogwood's August BOTM far more than we like the shot its named after. The Pickleback tops an Angus beef patty with Jameson glaze, bacon, fried pickles, fried jalapenos and more Jameson glaze. BGR The Burger Joint

A brand-spanking new BOTM at BGR this month features that unlikely combination of fruit, cheese and meat. Bobby's Burger Palace

Never afraid to flaunt its lack of creativity, Bobby's Burger Palace trots out the old and busted Cheyenne Burger in August. This burger was featured at BBP less than a year ago and, while we liked the flavor last time, the run-of-the-mill combo of smoked cheddar cheese, bacon, BBQ sauce and shoestring onion rings makes us yawn. 2121 K Street, NW | DC | bobbysburgerpalace.com  

Burger Tap & Shake

BTS goes south of the border this go 'round with the Chilango.
